It’s popular in many Christian circles
these days to say that God is “always in a good mood”, and that He never is, and never has been, mad at us. God’s love and mercy are such an awesome blessing and gift, for sure. However, it’s important to remember this: Prior to experiencing God’s grace in Christ, we did live under the the certain expectation of God’s wrath, unless we repented of our sins and turned to Christ for mercy and forgiveness. And currently, when professing Christians willfully sin, although God’s love isn’t at stake, it’s difficult to believe that being “grieved” and “quenched” doesn’t affect His mood.
