Infanticide & the Christian Conscience

Clay SpeakerOnce a baby has survived abortion and is outside the mother’s womb, no stretch of one’s imagination can consider that child part of the woman’s body.

I’ve seen it coming, but I’m still heartbroken and very angry and frustrated: The US Senate didn’t have enough votes today to outlaw infanticide. They needed 60 votes to protect children who survive abortion, they only got 53. What kind of evil country have we become?

Lots of people question why so many evangelical Christians are supportive of President Trump, surmising that they must be racists. What a lot of people need to realize, many of us Christians feel very deeply about the wholesale slaughter of innocent unborn children. And now it appears that infanticide is okay with the pro-choice supporters. That, my friends, has gone beyond “a woman’s right to choose” what she does with her own body. Once a baby has survived abortion and is outside the mother’s womb, no stretch of one’s imagination can consider that child part of the woman’s body. To not protect that child is a choice alright, but the choice is to murder, pure and simple.

I’m ashamed of those who claim to care about and speak for the rights of poor and helpless victims, but who don’t speak up for the rights of these children who are created in the image of God. Lord God, please help us; grant us your grace to repent.
