At this moment I am very thankful that I have a painful swollen, bright red big toe on my right foot. Thankful, because in calling my HMO to get a phone or virtual appointment to get treatment, I was able to talk with a nice woman who took down my information and sent it on. At the close of our conversation, I said, “I’m a retired pastor. Do you need prayer for anything?” 🙏
After a silent pause, she answered, “Yes.” She is very concerned about her ex and kids in a city experiencing lots of turmoil these days. As I prayed for her, her burden was released to the Lord. I could hear her weeping as she thanked me profusely for the prayers. I said, “You have my number, so feel free to call me anytime.”
Who knew that this woman, like so many others going about their daily lives, needed somebody to pray for her today. God did, and He put us together. So, yes, I am thankful for the swollen, bright red right big toe today. But Lord, You can heal it now. 😃
